ACURA ILX

Acura was due for a change in automotive strategies and a refreshing look coming into this year. The luxury department of Honda had surged in success in the early 2000s and had begun to trail off for a bit. Enter the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. Acura Surged with attention as it gathered the media's eyes with the comeback of the NSX. The other 2 vehicles that were introduced were the RDX and the ILX, but were ignored for a while as the media got over the initial shock of the NSX. As is during Christmas and the first opening of presents, the excitement settled in and Acura got to business. The ILX was then introduced and the media was amazed at this vehicle.

The ILX is rumored to be Honda's entry of the civic into the luxury department, with all this hype the ILX is still to be priced under $30,000.00! Most likely the ILX will be coming to an Acura showroom near you this spring! So take a good look at this new car
.

The ILX is a mix of bold creases and flat surfaces, and it's what we'd consider a much-toned-down version of Acura's previous styling direction. There's a shield-shaped grille up front, but it's not nearly as prominently displayed as on models like the TL and TSX, instead blending in more seamlessly with the rest of the car's overall design. Also note the boldly up-swept character line highlighting the rear doors and quarters. This car is something that we look forward to having available soon!

Three power-train options will be available: a base 2.0-liter four cylinder mated to an automatic gearbox, a 2.4-liter four with an exclusive six-speed manual transmission and, finally, Acura's first hybrid drive-train, which will be very similar to the one seen in the Honda Civic Hybrid. Expect a 1.5-liter engine with Honda's well-known IMA electric motor assist and a CVT transmission. There will be a number of high-tech options inside, including a Technology Package, Pandora internet radio and integrated text messaging functionality.
