This may come as a surprise, but Honda has decided to build the upcoming Acura NSX concept vehicle right here in the United States. This news has gotten mixed reaction from the public. When Autoblog.com conducted a poll they got different reactions, here is what the results from the poll looked like.
The United States 3387 (25.3%)
Japan 4033 (30.1%)
I don't care, just as long as it gets built. 5966 (44.6%)Japan 4033 (30.1%)
The good news is that it looks like potential customers do not worry about where the second generation supercar will be built. The only thing they are concerned about is that it needs to get done. The NSX is going to be built in Ohio where Honda has an engine plant, a transmission plant, two assembly plants and a research and development center in the state, so it shouldn't really be that much of a surprise. When you have all of the resources in the same country that has the biggest market for the NSX, why not build it there? It would save time and money and the technicians that build the cars are trusted in the Honda plants.

When asked if there was any concern that Japanese customers might have objections to a Japanese supercar built in the U.S., American Honda CEO Tetsuo Iwamura said, "You don't have to be so modest. American-built cars have a power, even in Japan."
Mr. Iwamura said there are three reasons why they wold build it in the U.S. first Honda believes in building the car in the same market in which it is sold, secondly Honda has had positive experiences with product development of other models here in the United states and lastly the third reason for the decision to build the NSX here is that Honda believes its Ohio manufacturing facilities produce high-quality products and wants to take advantage of that expertise.
