Street Survival School
Did you know that a motor vehicle crash is the leading cause of death among 13 to 19-year-olds in the U.S.? That's more than who will die from drugs, guns, and violent crimes combined. That's scary to think about right? So what can you do to help protect your self or your loved one?
Help them buy enrolling them in the Street Survival school!
Street Survival is authorized by BMW Car Club of America (CCA) Foundation, but it is not required that you drive a BMW in the Street Survival School. Rather the trained instructors would like for the teens to drive the cars they normally drive on an everyday basis. Every car is different so it is imperative that they know how to handle their car.
Street Survival school lasts a single day approximately from 8:30am until 4:00pm. It involves an hour of classroom orientation and explanation of the days activities as well as introduction into the driving school terminology. The remainder of the day the students will be having hands on driving simulations including one course which will simulate wet driving conditions. It is important for a student to know how to handle their car so that they may be prepared at any occasion.
So what are the requirements for being enrolled in the street survival school?
Here are a few:
- Participants must be 15-21 years of age and have an unrestricted driver's license.
- If under 18, students must have parents permission to participate and parents must sign a waiver.
- Students must present a copy of their license, proof of insurance, and the original signed Minor waiver (only if under 18) to participate in Street Survival schools.
In conjunction with the BMW Car Club of America The BMW CAA Foundation formed Street Survival school in April of 2002 to make the streets safer for all drivers. and now is your opportunity to be a part of this. Street Survival will be taking place in multiple locations, but here is our local location with date and time.
For this year's Street Survival school, Performance BMW has pledged to sponsor 4 students and pay their participation fee!
